His daily sufficient grace...

"As I walk with you I'm learning what your grace really means. The price that I could never pay was paid on Calvary. So instead of trying to repay You, I'm learning to simply obey you. By giving up my life to you...for all that you've given to me."

Baby one more time?

Sunshine beamed through the cracked window blinds. I turn. A cool breeze fills my room as I readjust and moan, begging for the opportunity to fall back asleep. My hand reaches for the cell phone. 6:40 am on a Sunday. The temperature is going to get quite warm today. Better make it out before it rises too much. I roll myself out of bed and slip into my running capris. Water bottles are filled, ipod is grabbed, and out I go, neglecting the locking of my door. After all, on this campus, it’s not necessary. Everyone watches out for everyone else and their belongings. As I pass the barn, two baby bunnies cross my path. So cute.
Following my run, I lay on the concrete in the sun. My arms stretch out as I watch the clouds. They form incredible shapes, interweaving. There is silence. The windmills off in the distance stand at a still. It is a beautiful morning, already reaching sixty degrees.
This weekend was very productive. I sorted through and cleaned every nook and cranny of my apartment. I also swapped some furniture with Jessica. I now have a very comfortable recliner and a beautiful television stand in my apartment. I feel like I have WAY too much storage space for my few belongings. Today, as I continued working with inventory in my classroom, Tammy stepped in. She asked if I needed any assistance. Oh my goodness! Praise God for awesome people at Sun Valley- for awesome people in general! Tammy recorded every textbook for the entire third and fourth grade! It ended up taking up four pages, and this was her day off!
I recently discovered my great love for the music from the Glee cast. Their version of Charlie Chaplin’s song “Smile” is my favorite! If you need an encourager, seriously youtube it. Now I just need to actually watch the show.
Tonight, after a few hours in my classroom, I returned home to begin watching the new episodes of Hawaii 5-0 that my dad recorded for me. It was comforting, as I watched three episodes, to see my parent’s condominium on my tv screen! I watched as I spotted many hangout spots of mine, including Ala Moana Beach Park. In eleven days I will be back in the big city of nearly a million: Honolulu. For 58 days, I will enjoy relaxation, sunshine, swimming, running, and 18 kindergarteners! Yes, that’s right. I will be taking over the kindergarten at Waolani Judd Nazarene School. I’m very excited, as I usually cover the pre-school. This will be a new experience, and I will probably have some of my students from last year.
Today a random car appeared on campus. It was pretty much totaled, windshield smashed and side crushed. Clothes, blankets, and other belonging were hanging from the windows. This car appeared somewhere between the hours of 10 pm and 9 am. Steve called the sheriffs, who searched every building on campus for anything suspicious. Steve passed by my apartment, so I opened my door to get the update. He was desperately searching for a diet coke and complimented me on my dress. It was very nice…the compliment, not the coke. Nothing was found and we will call a tow truck to haul it away. Odd.
…and my final thoughts. The last week of school has finally arrived! This week will consist of the Work and Witness team hosting a basketball camp and poetry writing class. I need to go buy some ice cream for our class party. Friday is promotion. We are required to wear a skirt or dress past our knees and a short-sleeved or long-sleeved top. Oh geez. The only outfit of mine that fit the description was my black and white sleeveless dress, which I would have to wear my black long-sleeved top over. It’s going to be 90 degrees on Friday! Luckily, my brown skirt reaches my knees, so that will just have to do. My kids are singing “Blessed Be Your Name”. I purchased the background music and we have been practicing for a week now.
Both boys dorm parents are back on campus and, as this year comes to a close and summer approaches, hopefully some stability will come along with it.
…and a tan would be nice too. J
…and why is the Glee Cast singing “Baby one more time” on my pandora station?? Anybody? Seriously? I'm debating my new passion for Glee music...
